J-Six Enterprises

It starts with good people and good ground. J-Six Enterprises is a family-owned agriculture company that mills, farms, raises livestock, hauls freight, and makes pet treats. Full circle, from the soil up.

Overview

J-Six Enterprises is a family-owned agriculture company out of Seneca, Kansas, with divisions spanning milling, farming, livestock, trucking, and pet food. They needed a new site that could carry all of that under one roof without turning into a corporate directory, and that still felt like the family business it is.

I was the solo full-stack developer on the WordPress build, handling both the front end and the back end. The design was ambitious, with a layered, sectioned homepage and a lot of motion across each division, and the real work was making that creativity hold together cleanly on every screen size. The part I’m proudest of is the careers section: a job board with AJAX filtering by division and region, so applicants can narrow the open roles down to the ones that fit them without a single page reload.

  • Solo Full-Stack Developer
Front end and back end were both mine. I built the entire site myself, from the custom theme and templates down to the data structures behind the careers board and the division pages.
  • Built On WordPress
A fully custom WordPress theme built to hold a multi-division company in one place, with dedicated sections for milling, storage, trucking, farming, livestock, and pet treats.
  • Live Filterable Careers Board
The standout feature. A job board that filters open roles by division and region in real time, with no page reloads, so applicants get to the right opening fast.
  • Modular, Video-Driven Homepage
A homepage built around J-Six's "We Can Build It, Store It, Deliver It, Farm It" idea, with a dedicated, video-backed section introducing each division.
